Readers Write In #538: Dreams from the Cityscape

By Sudharsanan Sampath

This is a movie.

Not a story movie. But perhaps a documentary?

I don’t assume it may be known as a documentary. It is one thing.

I’ve been residing a really nomadic life, transferring from city to city, metropolis to metropolis and nation to nation. I’ve at all times preferred visiting and residing in an enormous metropolis. Maybe not at all times. I didn’t know why I needed to make this movie. I feel it was in Bangkok. I used to be in my excessive rise resort room. I used to be in mattress searching the window. Looking on the rain drenched night time metropolis. That’s once I determined to make this movie.

The second I made a decision to make a movie about cities, I knew I needed to in some way emulate the grainy and burnt look of 16mm or 35mm. Of course it helps that I’m an enormous fan of Wong Kar Wai and Andrei Tarkovsky. So I needed to duplicate a sure search for this. Shot this in many alternative nations and spent a number of time colour grading to realize the movie emulation. At this level, I’m not positive if it’s any good. But I feel it’s alright.

Hope you take pleasure in this as a lot as I loved making it.
