Barbara Walters, journalist and TV legend, dies at age 93


Barbara Walters, a journalist, TV legend and pioneering broadcaster, has died on the age of 93.

In an announcement posted to social media, Robert Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, mentioned Walters handed away at her dwelling in New York on Friday.

“She was a one-of-a-kind reporter who landed many of the most important interviews of our time from heads of state and leaders of regimes to the biggest celebrities and sports icons,” Iger’s assertion learn.

“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists, but for all women,” mentioned publicist Cindi Berger in an announcement to the Associated Press.

Walters made headlines in 1976 as the primary feminine community information anchor.

She is survived by her solely daughter, Jacqueline Danforth.
