Kat’s mom, Sheila (Kurtz), views her daughter being single as her personal private failure. After leaving her job as a University of Louisville school professor, Kat spends the cash her dad and mom had put aside for her wedding ceremony to open a cat café. Working alongside Kat on the cafe are her buddies, artist Randi (Pratt) and Phil (Jordan), a baker. As Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans start to veer off-course when her former crush and good good friend, Max (Jackson), returns to city. Max takes a job as a bartender on the piano bar throughout the road from Kat’s place and works together with his good friend, Carter (Gant).
