AMERICAN THEATRE | Jasson Minadakis to Exit Marin Theatre Company

MILL VALLEY, CALIF.: Marin Theatre Company (MTC) has introduced that creative director Jasson Minadakis will step down on March 31, 2023. Minadakis has served 17 seasons with MTC.

“I am honored to have served as the artistic leader of this organization for 17 incredible seasons. It has been a defining period in my career and my life, and I am proud of what we have achieved,” Minadakis mentioned in a press release. “It is time for a new artistic leader to lead MTC into its next phase, and I’m excited to help the organization and the community through the transition period.”

MTC’s board of administrators has fashioned a search committee to determine Minadakis’s successor to guide the corporate’s continued creative progress.

Minadakis has served as MTC’s creative director since 2006 and has produced 88 productions throughout his tenure, together with 20 world premieres. He established the Sky Cooper New American Play Prize and the David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize to concentrate on new-play growth; the prizes have been final awarded in 2019. Under Minadakis’s management, MTC turned a member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). Minadakis has directed 32 productions at MTC and has labored intently Marin’s National Playwright in Residence, Lauren Gunderson, working to fee, direct, and movie Gunderson’s The Catastrophist throughout the peak of the pandemic.
