The Cure’s ‘Wish’ Reissue Comes With 24 Unreleased Tracks: Stream

The Cure have reissued their 1992 album Wish for its thirtieth anniversary. The deluxe version of the album incorporates 24 beforehand unreleased tracks — starting from rarities and demos to alternate mixes — plus 4 tracks that had been beforehand solely obtainable from the mail order-exclusive tape Lost Wishes.

The album was remastered by Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Smith has at all times needed to revisit Wish. In a press launch he stated:

There’s a aspect to the album which I had sort of forgotten, a really light, craving factor which is sort of lovely. “Trust” is without doubt one of the greatest issues we’ve ever achieved I feel, it’s performed with nice feeling, and ‘”To Wish Impossible Things” is one other attractive, melancholic piece… actually it might properly be my favorite tune on the document.

In the studio management room all of it sounded glorious, however I obtained too busy checking out our upcoming concert events to correctly oversee the mastering. It was too late to do something about it; the album was out, and we had been off around the globe once more. It has actually bugged for me for a really very long time. It has taken 30 years, however lastly, lastly my Wish has come true.

In addition to being obtainable on streaming providers at present, Wish will be ordered as a 3CD 45-track version (essentially the most expansive), a 2xLP vinyl version, and a 1CD version. Details on these are right here.

The Wish thirtieth anniversary version is out now through UMC/Fiction/Polydor.
