They’re creepy and so they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re coming again to tee-vee — the Addams household!
With genre-TV faves Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) as creators and Tim Burton (Beetlejuice) within the director’s chair, the brand new present Wednesday tells a special form of Addams Family story, a “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” as Netflix says.
Jenna Ortega performs the eponymous teen as she “attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore,” the streaming service provides.
Better but, the Wednesday solid even consists of Christina Ricci, who performed the character in two big-screen motion pictures. “Nobody stands out from the crowd like Wednesday Addams,” Gough instructed TV Insider in September. “What really sets the show apart is that Addams Family humor.”
We have monstrous expectations for Wednesday — debuting November 23, a Wednesday, after all! But the place will the sequence rank amongst different diversifications of Charles Addams’ cartoons?
