Rapper Lil Nas X Faces Serious Charges After Naked Arrest
WHAT HAPPENED:
Last week, rapper Lil Nas X was arrested after police found him walking naked down a street in Los Angeles. The incident took place early in the morning on Ventura Boulevard. Now, prosecutors have charged him with four felonies related to the encounter.
THE CHARGES:
The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has been formally charged with:

Three counts of battery causing injury to a police officer.

One felony count of resisting or obstructing a police officer.
He is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment, where he will respond to the charges.
WHAT POLICE SAY HAPPENED:
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to calls about a naked man walking in the street. When they approached Lil Nas X, he allegedly charged at them. Police initially thought he might be overdosing and took him to a hospital for evaluation. After several hours, he was taken to jail, where he has remained since his arrest last Friday.

A driver passing by recorded part of the incident. In the video, the rapper can be seen placing an orange traffic cone on his head and speaking to the person filming. At one point, he threatens to throw the person’s phone because he says he doesn’t like phones.
BACKGROUND:
Lil Nas X became famous in 2019 after his song “Old Town Road” became a massive viral hit. He is currently preparing to release his second studio album, called Dreamboy, later this year.
His legal representatives have not yet made a public statement about the arrest or the charges.
