Jada Says Set The Record Straight Before Chris Rock Apologized
The Girls Trip actress made her revelation throughout a latest sit-down with PEOPLE. She recalled that, regardless of divorce stories about her and Will rising on a near-annual foundation, Chris allegedly believed them at one level. In flip, he apparently known as her up and requested her on a date.
“I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’”
However, Jada Pinkett Smith says she shut down the rumors earlier than Chris Rock “profusely apologized.”
“I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that.”
