When first help can’t allow you to

We all know the significance of getting strong first help expertise once we head off into the bush. A very good distant space first help course not solely provides us the technical know-how of what to do in an emergency, however confidence to step in and act when somebody suffers an damage.

However, there’s one thing that first help programs can’t actually put together us for that may depart us feeling susceptible particularly when travelling solo.

In this episode, I hear from skilled bushwalker, cross-country skier, runner and all spherical journey traveller, Owen, on what occurred throughout day 21 of the 650 km Australian Alps Walking Track when he discovered himself alone and pushing the SOS button.

Artist’s Statement

How rapidly issues can change. Day 21 of strolling the Australian Alps Walking Track. The climate was magic and my first views of the Snowy Mountains in NSW beckoned me on. I couldn’t have been happier. 24 hours later the climate was atrocious and a severe sickness had overwhelmed me that introduced my world crashing down. A surprising finish to a lovely dream. O’ Mice an’ Men captures the chaotic finish to ‘best laid plans’. This all performed out on the Long Spur between Mount Bogong and Mount Wills.
