Florida Teacher Charged After Allegedly Striking Autistic 4-Year-Old


A Florida elementary college instructor is now dealing with fees after allegedly putting and pulling a 4-year-old autistic little one. According to WKMG, the girl was arrested Thursday.

More Details Regarding The Florida Elementary Teacher’s Charges

According to the outlet, 48-year-old Stacy Strnad was arrested by Edgewater Police on Thursday at her Port Orange, Florida dwelling. Strnad has reportedly been hit with “child abuse and battery charges.”

WKMG provides that the girl has since bonded out of jail. However, an announcement from Volusia County Schools has revealed that Strnad has now been “placed on leave pending” the police division’s investigation.

“On Thursday, Sept. 7, a teacher at Indian River Elementary School was arrested for allegedly slapping a student. The teacher has been placed on leave pending an investigation,” the assertion learn, as per WKMG.

The assertion added that Volusia County Schools “followed all protocols” in “immediately responding” to the incident. Additionally, it defined that the district is cooperating with legislation enforcement because the investigation progresses.

Volusia County Schools added that it takes “any behavior that jeopardizes the safety of our students” and guardian’s belief “seriously.” Furthermore, the assertion defined that the district strives to “foster a safe and respectful learning environment” for its college students.

“Any such behavior that does not align with these standards will not be tolerated.”

More Information Regarding The Alleged Child Abuse Incident

According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Edgewater Police Captain Charles Geiger defined to the outlet that authorities have been knowledgeable of the incident Thursday. Additionally, Fox 35 Orlando stories that the incident befell that very same day.

Upon investigation, police found that the instructor allegedly struck the unnamed 4-year-old with an open hand twice on his arm. Then, when the kid ran away from Strnad, she allegedly grabbed him by his arm and pulled him backward. This motion reportedly brought about the kid to fall and lower their arm on a bookcase.

At this time, the kid’s household has not publicly spoken out in regards to the incident.
