The National<\/a>\u2019s Aaron Dessner<\/a> has defended working with Ed Sheeran<\/a> on his upcoming album \u2018\u2013<\/a>\u2019, saying he\u2019s \u201ctired of the \u2018what\u2019s cool?\u2019 debate.\u201d<\/p>\n Dessner co-wrote and co-produced Sheeran\u2019s \u2018-\u2019 (\u2018Subtract\u2019), which is due out May 5.<\/p>\n \u201cFor the first time I\u2019m not trying to craft an album people will like, I\u2019m merely putting something out that\u2019s honest and true to where I am in my adult life,\u201d Sheeran stated when he introduced his sixth album. It was written when the musician was \u201cspiralling through fear, depression and anxiety\u201d.<\/p>\n
