A Halifax-area chef has gained a well-known following after posting about his weight-loss journey on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Derrick Bona of Eastern Passage, N.S. caught the eye of Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a> final Wednesday, who re-tweeted his progress image saying: \u201cYou\u2019ve got this, so I\u2019m really just sharing your tweet to inspire everyone else. I\u2019m proud of you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bona stated it\u2019s been the craziest week of his life.<\/p>\n

Bona stated he and his spouse had simply sat down for supper final week when his cellphone started to explode with messages and tweets.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I\u2019m like getting hacked or something,\u201d he stated, \u201cand then a friend of mine\u2019s like, \u2018Do you realize you just got retweeted by Arnold with a personal message?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Well, I do now!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

In the start, Bona weighed about 600 kilos. He stated he even needed to order a particular scale on Amazon that firms use to weigh packages.<\/p>\n

However, after three weeks, Bona was weighing in at 561. As of Saturday, he\u2019s down a substantial 83 kilos.<\/p>\n

Bona stated his weight-loss journey started after a fall exterior his house in January left him in a darkish place.<\/p>\n
