Meet Mike Valentine (Edgar Ram\u00edrez<\/a>), a resourceful man embroiled in a single twisty Elmore Leonard-esque thriller after one other. An ex-cop with a playing dependancy, Mike reluctantly agrees to repay a debt to petulant Philly mobster Moss Yankov (Emory Cohen<\/a>) by heading to Central Florida to seek out fiery Delly West (Abbey Lee<\/a>), Moss\u2019 runaway girlfriend. That job kicks off a set of comedic turns in Florida Man<\/em><\/a>, a seven-episode collection peppered with mighty shady characters.<\/p>\n One of many problems Mike comes up in opposition to within the Sunshine State, the place he doesn\u2019t prefer to admit he\u2019s from, is his father, retired police chief Sonny Valentine (Anthony LaPaglia<\/a>).<\/p>\n \u201cMy character\u2019s untrustworthy,\u201d explains LaPaglia. That\u2019s an understatement. \u201cHe has been out of Mike\u2019s life for quite a while, but they have a healthy distrust of each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Though Sonny tries mending fences, life for the pair is sophisticated.<\/p>\n \u201cSomething Mike doesn\u2019t like about himself a lot is that he\u2019s way closer to his dad in terms of what he\u2019s willing to do,\u201d says LaPaglia. They embark on a caper involving a substantial payday that, at one level, had the 64-year-old star venturing underwater, which thrilled him.<\/p>\n \u201cI spent three weeks learning [to scuba dive],\u201d he says, including, \u201cEdgar didn\u2019t like it so much!\u201d Given the elements they play, that\u2019s no shock.<\/p>\n Florida Man <\/em>debuts April 13 on Netflix<\/a>. The restricted collection hails from This Is Us<\/em><\/a> creator Donald Todd with govt producers Jason Bateman<\/a> and Michael Costigan. It\u2019s the most recent team-up from the 2, whose multi-year manufacturing deal<\/a> with the streamer is what introduced Ozark<\/em><\/a> to the small display.<\/p>\n Additional stars embrace Otmara Marrero<\/a>, Lex Scott Davis<\/a>, Clark Gregg<\/a>, Isaiah Johnson<\/a>, Paul Schneider<\/a>, and Lauren Buglioli<\/a>.
