The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) has launched Series 5 of its podcast, Why Dance Matters. This collection options pioneering voices from throughout the dance and theatre spheres, with a incredible line-up of stars and changemakers creating waves internationally.<\/p>\n

The collection begins with New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck forward of the European debut of her extremely anticipated work Turn It Out with Tiler Peck & Friends<\/em>. The second episode sees Tim Arthur get behind the mic to speak about his story and first 12 months as Chief Executive of RAD.<\/p>\n

We then hear from dance changemakers within the Global South: the Singapore-based Raphael Ng whose profession started within the dance studio and jet\u00e9d to the world of finance, and Brazilian RAD Teacher Ana Maria Campos who speaks to listeners from this 12 months\u2019s Prix de Lausanne. Francesca Harper, inventive director of the dynamic Ailey II, the second firm to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, can be a visitor.<\/p>\n

In the ultimate episode, we’re taken exterior the world of dance to listen to from Giles Terera MBE, the British actor who\u2019s gained quite a few accolades together with the 2018 Olivier Award for Best Actor within the musical, Hamilton<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the launch of Series 5, podcast host and journalist David Jays says, \u201cWe are very excited to launch the fifth season of Why Dance Matters with remarkable people from Brazil, the USA and Singapore, and to hear how dance has shaped their journey. Tiler Peck, one of the world\u2019s great ballerinas, opens the season. Later, we\u2019ll hear how RAD ballet can lead to a career in high finance and how the award-winning actor Giles Terera reframes his body for Shakespeare or musicals. We also meet a publisher, a theatre director, a consumer finance champion, a sometime burlesque performer and the RAD\u2019s new CEO \u2013 and they\u2019re all the same person! Why Dance Matters is a collection of conversations with extraordinary individuals from the world of dance and past. It traces the impression of dance on their lives and asks why dance issues to them \u2013 and why it would matter to us all.<\/p>\n
