Alain Platel is the director of Les Ballet C de la B, which is in reality not a ballet firm, and undoubtedly not your typical dance firm.<\/p>\n
Based in Belgium, Alain tells us how he began Les Ballet C de la B accidentally and has during the last 30 years challenged the conventional conventions of dance.<\/p>\n
Working with each skilled and non-professional dancers, dwell musicians, and even animals, Alain creates work that makes us query \u2018what is dance\u2019, who’s allowed to bounce, what’s a dancer, the place does dance finish and motion start, is theatre dance?<\/p>\n
His piece\u00a0Nicht Schlafen being proven at Sadler\u2019s Wells<\/a> (30 June and 1 July), is an instance of his radical dance that offers with life and dying.
