Jamie Lee Curtis<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>revealed that she gave her Oscar they\/them pronouns in a brand new interview with\u00a0Today\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>on Tuesday, March 14. While displaying off her Academy Award, the actress, 64, admitted that she determined to provide the award gender-neutral pronouns as a present of affection for her daughter\u00a0Ruby<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>27, who’s transgender.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0Savannah Guthrie\u00a0<\/strong>requested if Jamie had named the Oscar statue, the\u00a0Halloween\u00a0<\/em>star revealed that she didn\u2019t, however she had been referring to the trophy with gender-neutral pronouns. \u201cIn support of my daughter Ruby<\/a>, I\u2019m having them be a they\/them. I\u2019m going to just call them them,\u201d she mentioned. \u201cThey are doing great, and they\u2019re settling in, and I just couldn\u2019t in my life, I never thought in a million years that I would have this couple days, and I\u2019m very moved by the whole thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamie had revealed that her daughter was transgender<\/a> again in a July 2021 interview with\u00a0AARP The Magazine<\/a>. <\/em>The outlet mentioned that she and her husband\u00a0Christopher Guest<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cwatched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby. And she and her fianc\u00e9 will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier within the interview, Jamie teared up whereas watching her acceptance speech, revealing that she hadn\u2019t gotten an opportunity to look at it since she gained the Best Supporting Actress award on Sunday night time. It was a really candy second to get to see her response to the wonderful win.<\/p>\n
