Mr. Big, the Los Angeles rock band that hit #1 with \u201cTo Be With You<\/a>\u201d in 1992, is asking it quits after a farewell tour that can kick off later this yr and spill into 2024. The band went on hiatus following the loss of life of drummer and co-founder Pat Torpey, who handed away in 2018 from problems associated to Parkinson\u2019s illness. <\/p>\n \u201cWe wanted to do a proper farewell, and this seems like the right way to do it,\u201d bassist\/vocalist Billy Sheehan stated in a press launch. \u201cWe\u2019re in the process of making sure we come up with a suitably big entertainment extravaganza to go along with our music,\u201d added guitarist\/vocalist Paul Gilbert. \u201cAnd since our music has resonated so wonderfully in places all over the world, we\u2019re going to play in as many of those places as we can.\u201d<\/p>\n Nick D\u2019Virgilio, who’s a member of Spock\u2019s Beard and performed drums on Genesis\u2019 ultimate album Calling All Stations<\/em>, will probably be taking on Torpey\u2019s duties as drummer. \u201cWe found a wonderful drummer in Nick, and he\u2019s got a great voice too,\u201d Sheehan stated. \u201cNick has a vocal range similar to Pat\u2019s, and he\u2019ll be able to do the parts Pat did with a similar finesse.\u201d <\/p>\n The tour will kick off in Japan this July, they usually\u2019ll play a couple of dates in Southeast Asia.
