Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812<\/em>, will probably be awarded $10,000 as a part of the fellowship, designed to propel the profession of a person feminine or non-binary actor of shade with a major funding that may launch them into the following steps of their profession.<\/p>\n\u201cThere are very few awards designed specifically to help women and non-binary actors of color advance their careers,\u201d mentioned Theatre Bay Area\u2019s government director, Sean Fenton, in a press release. \u201cThere are so many roadblocks for BIPOC actors. When we invest in promising talent, the whole theatre sector stands to win. TBA is excited to continue our partnership with RHE Charitable Foundation for this important award.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Adedokun beforehand labored with the Latin firm MundoBeat Entertainment (Grupo Tumbao, Trio Con Paz, Almagama), and was featured as lead singer of the Indianapolis S<\/s>salsa band Grupo Bembe. Angel\u2019s debut EP, Love Always, Angel<\/em> was launched in 2020. She is at the moment writing music for OasisTV in San Francisco and doing voiceover for Bay Area Children\u2019s Theatre\u2019s on-line platform, Play On!<\/p>\nThis 12 months\u2019s candidates included 9 people nominated by Bay Area-based skilled actors and administrators. The winner was chosen by a panel of completed ladies of shade. Previous RHE fellows embody Reggie D. White (2014), Sarita Oc\u00f3n (2016), and Cindy Im (2018).<\/p>\n
The eight different nominees for this 12 months\u2019s award have been Sophia Alawi, Rolanda Bell, Katrina McGraw, Alicia M.P. Nelson, Aidaa Peerzada, Chanel Tilghman, Princess Washington, and Jasmine Milan Williams.<\/p>\n
