Don Lemon<\/a> <\/strong>was again on the desk of CNN This Morning <\/em>on Wednesday (Feb. 22), returning after a near-weeklong absence after saying Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley<\/a> <\/strong>was previous her \u201cprime.\u201d Though Don, 56, and co-host Poppy Harlow <\/strong>didn\u2019t point out what he mentioned about Haley, Don tweeted an apology forward of his look. \u201cI appreciate the opportunity to be back on @CNNThisMorning today. To my network, my colleagues, and our incredible audience \u2014 I\u2019m sorry. I\u2019ve heard you, I\u2019m learning from you, and I\u2019m committed to doing better<\/a>. See you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

This marked Don\u2019s second apology, following what he mentioned on the Feb. 16 broadcast. That morning, Don, Poppy, 40, and cohost Kaitlan Collins<\/strong>, 30, mentioned Haley\u2019s proposal that politicians over 75 must be topic to obligatory psychological competency checks. \u201cThis whole talk about age makes me uncomfortable. I think it\u2019s the wrong road to go down. She says people, you know, politicians are suddenly not in their prime. Nikki Haley isn\u2019t in her prime,\u201d Don mentioned of the 51-year-old Haley, per the New York Post<\/a><\/em>. \u201cA woman is considered to be in their prime in [their] 20s and 30s and maybe 40s.\u201d<\/p>\n

The feedback instantly rankled Don\u2019s cohosts. \u201d \u201cWhat are you talking about, wait \u2026 Prime for what?\u201d requested Poppy. \u201d \u201cThat\u2019s not according to me,\u201d argued Don. It\u2019s like, prime. If you look it up. If you Google when is a lady in her prime, it\u2019ll say 20s, 30s, and 40s. I\u2019m simply saying Nikki Haley must be cautious about saying that politicians usually are not of their prime they usually have to be of their prime once they serve. Because she wouldn\u2019t be in her prime in keeping with, you realize, Google.\u201d<\/p>\n

Don tweeted an apology after the feedback. \u201cThe reference I made to a woman\u2019s \u2018prime\u2019 this morning was inartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it,\u201d he wrote<\/a>. \u201cA woman\u2019s age doesn\u2019t define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day.\u201d Lemon was absent on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday\u2019s episodes of CNN This Morning<\/em>.<\/p>\n
