Today the movie\u2019s star has been revealed. Jaafar Jackson, son of Michael\u2019s brother and Jackson 5 bandmate Jermaine, will play the pop mega-star, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/01\/michael-jackson-nephew-jaafar-jackson-portray-king-of-pop-in-antoine-fuqua-directed-movie-lionsgate-1235244128\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a> stories.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jaafar, pictured above along with his aunt La Toya Jackson, is an aspiring pop artist himself. The film has been within the works since 2019, when Jackson\u2019s property <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereogum.com\/2065890\/michael-jackson-biopic\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">offered the rights to his story<\/a> to <em>Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em> producer Graham King. King\u2019s GK Films is producing <em>Michael<\/em> alongside the co-executors of Jackson\u2019s property, John Branca and John McClain.
