The late David Crosby<\/a> was engaged on a brand new album when he died, a collaborator has revealed.<\/p>\n Crosby, a founding member of\u00a0The Byrds<\/a> and Crosby, Stills & Nash, died final week (January 19) on the age of 81 following a protracted sickness<\/a>.<\/p>\n The legendary songwriter performed his final gig in 2019<\/a>, however guitarist guitarist Steve Postell advised Variety<\/a><\/em> that new music was on the way in which, and that Crosby \u201cseemed practically giddy\u201d in regards to the new materials.<\/p>\n \u201cDavid didn\u2019t think he was gonna last for years, which he joked about all the time. I\u2019d like people to know that he was on it,\u201d the guitarist mentioned.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was writing, playing, singing his ass off and preparing a fantastic show. That\u2019s what he was doing. He was not lying in a bed for two years, out of it. That\u2019s not what happened at all.\u201d<\/p>\n In the times following his loss of life, Crosby\u2019s associates, collaborators and followers have paid tribute to him on-line.<\/p>\n Graham Nash \u2013 his bandmate in Crosby, Stills & Nash, paid tribute<\/a>, saying that it was with \u201ca deep and profound sadness\u201d that he discovered about Crosby\u2019s loss of life.<\/p>\n \u201cI know people tend to focus on how volatile our relationship has been at times, but what has always mattered to David and me more than anything was the pure joy of the music we created together, the sound we discovered with one another, and the deep friendship we shared over all these many long years,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n Neil Young additionally shared his recollections of the late Crosby<\/a>. In a weblog submit on his Neil Young Archives<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>web site, he wrote: \u201cDavid is gone, however his music lives on. The soul of CSNY, David\u2019s voice and power have been on the coronary heart of our band. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us.
