For the higher a part of a decade, she\u2019s been proving us proper. The English folk-pop singer-songwriter will return in April together with her fourth album, <em>Drop Cherries<\/em>, by which cherries are a metaphor for providing somebody your love and going out of your method to please them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDropping cherries is such a strong, visceral image that I tried to channel throughout recording in Somerset and Wales, to capture the vibrancy, unpredictability, and occasional chaos one experiences within a relationship,\u201d Marten says in a press launch. \u201cImagine stamping blood-red cherries onto a clean, cream carpet and tell me that\u2019s not how love feels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lead single \u201cThis Is How We Move\u201d is the form of impossibly lovely acoustic ballad that made me a Billie Marten fan within the first place, tender and delicate and twilit and nearly excellent.
