Brendan Fraser<\/a> delivered a passionate speech after he took house the Best Actor trophy on the Critics Choice Awards<\/a> for his starring function in The Whale.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The much-beloved actor accepted the award throughout Sunday night time\u2019s ceremony, beating out a variety of different titan performances, together with Austin Butler, nominated for Elvis<\/em>, and Colin Farrell, who was up for The Banshees of Inisherin.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was Herman Melville who once wrote that there are only five critics in America \u2014 the rest are asleep. I don\u2019t know what it means, either, but I\u2019m sure glad you woke up for me,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Fraser then spoke on to The Whale<\/em> director Darren Aronofsky, who beforehand stated it took 10 years<\/a> to forged the proper actor within the movie\u2019s main function.<\/p>\n

\u201cDarren Aronofsky, I was in the wilderness, and I probably should have left a trail of breadcrumbs, but you\u2019ve found me,\u201d he stated. \u201cAnd like all the best directors, you merely just showed me where to go to get to where I needed to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stated The Whale, <\/em>which marked Fraser\u2019s triumphant return to Hollywood, <\/em>is about \u201clove,\u201d \u201credemption\u201d and \u201cfinding the light in a dark place.\u201d He additionally praised his co-stars Hong Chau and Sadie Sink.<\/p>\n
