A newly launched trailer for the pic illustrates simply how naive Jo (Merlant), a pregnant life-style entrepreneur, is about what\u2019s to come back after she provides start. \u201cNothing\u2019s going to be any different,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s just a baby. How big are they, even?\u201d<\/p>\nTaking care of her child proves to be significantly tougher than Jo ever imagined. Desperate and sleep disadvantaged, she asks picture-perfect mothers for recommendation. \u201cTrust your instincts,\u201d they inform her. But Ruth\u2019s instincts are telling her that her toddler daughter is killing her.<\/p>\n
\u201cMuch of my work emerges from a tiny personal spark that I can then push to extremes. Becoming a parent was a deeply transformative experience for me \u2013 as it is for many,\u201d Wohl advised us. \u201cI quickly realized that I hadn\u2019t seen a lot of movies that really portrayed the complexities of this transformation, even the parts that are dangerous, taboo, and scary to talk about. I wanted to find a way to say the things that are rarely said, and to make space for both beauty and terror. It\u2019s still sadly rare to see a story about a female character that portrays her in her full humanity,\u201d she emphasised. I hope that sometime treating girls as full human beings gained\u2019t really feel like such a radical act.\u201d<\/p>\n
