NEW YORK: <\/strong>Theatre Communications Group<\/a> (TCG) has named Kathy Sova and Erin Salvi co-publishers of the TCG Books<\/a> program. Sova and Salvi will work with outgoing writer Terry Nemeth<\/a> by way of January to handle the transition, and Nemeth will keep on as writer emeritus.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter a robust search that included a consultative process with leaders in the publishing field, it became clear that successfully transitioning from Terry\u2019s leadership as founding publisher would require us to think differently,\u201d Teresa Eyring, TCG\u2019s government director and CEO, mentioned in a press release. \u201cThrough this shared leadership model, the unique strengths and experiences that Erin and Kathy each bring to the work will build on Terry Nemeth\u2019s extraordinary legacy. Under Kathy and Erin\u2019s shared leadership, that legacy will surely grow to new heights.\u201d<\/p>\n The co-publishers will work collectively on the editorial choice course of. Sova will oversee editorial selections, e book designs, writer relations, and contracting, whereas Salvi will oversee funds and title distribution. Additionally, the co-publishers may even oversee TCG\u2019s One Million Books marketing campaign, which is able to make a million TCG titles accessible to varsities and universities, public libraries, neighborhood facilities, and impartial bookstores.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be stepping into this new role in partnership with my wonderful colleague Kathy,\u201d Salvi mentioned in a press release. \u201cUnder the leadership of the inimitable Terry Nemeth, TCG Books has become an essential part of the theatre ecology, providing plays with their much-deserved place alongside other forms of literature. And then to luckily parallel someone like Terry in this niche, but exquisite, genre of publishing\u2014let\u2019s just say that I am forever changed about what dedication to writers and their voices means.\u201d<\/p>\n During her 28 years at TCG, Sova has managed the editorial and manufacturing work for TCG Books and has edited performs and theatre reference books. She has edited titles by Annie Baker, Aleshea Harris, Jeremy O. Harris, Adrienne Kennedy, Athol Fugard, Tony Kushner, Suzan Lori-Parks, Lynn Nottage, and lots of others, in addition to the Thornton Wilder property. Sova launched TCG\u2019s playwright sequence with the Center for Fiction<\/a> in Brooklyn and is collaborating with Branden Jacobs-Jenkins on the event of the Illuminations sequence, a publishing initiative to deliver renewed consideration to neglected performs by Black playwrights. The Illuminations sequence launched final 12 months with Alice Childress\u2019s Trouble in Mind<\/em> and hopes to publish 10 performs in 5 years, accompanied by essays by up to date Black playwrights.<\/p>\n
