He was a brilliant lyricist, a DJ, a Buddhist, a magnificent stage presence, car lover, endless talker, beautiful person, moral compass and genius.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Born Maxwell Fraser in Brixton in 1957, Jazz based the Soul Food Cafe System as a DJ in 1984 and aired \u201cIn the Soul Kitchen with DJ Maxi Jazz\u201d on pirate radio station Reach FM London. The Soul Food Cafe Band was picked up by Tam Tam Records in 1989. Jazz then based Namu Records in 1992, and his band toured world wide with acts like Jamiroquai, Soul II Soul, and Jason Rebello. After the band broke up, Jazz collaborated with Jah Wobble on the <em>Invaders Of The Heart<\/em> album.<\/p>\n<p>In 1995, Jazz, Rollo, and Sister Bliss shaped home\/trance act Faithless. They launched their first album, <em>Reverence<\/em> in 1996. It featured now-classic tracks like \u201cDon\u2019t Leave,\u201d \u201cSalva Mea,\u201d and \u201cInsomnia,\u201d and it reached #26 on the UK Albums Chart. Faithless launched six extra albums between 1998 and 2020, together with: <em>Sunday 8PM<\/em>, which featured the worldwide hit \u201cGod Is A DJ\u201d (1998), <em>Outrospective<\/em> (2001), <em>No Roots<\/em>, which debuted at #1 within the UK (2004), <em>To All New Arrivals<\/em> (2006), <em>The Dance<\/em> (2010), and <em>All Blessed<\/em> (2020). <\/p>\n<p>In 2015, Jazz shaped a brand new group referred to as Maxi Jazz &amp; The E-Type Boys; they performed at quite a few festivals, together with some the place Faithless had been additionally billed.<\/p>\n<p>Paying tribute to Jazz, producer and DJ Mistajam tweeted: \u201cI only met him IRL once and he was the kindest man with such an aura about him.
