Bob Costas received\u2019t be sitting down for a 3rd season of Back On the Record<\/em>. HBO has cancelled the interview collection, which options prolonged conversations with figures from sports activities, leisure, and popular culture. The eighth and closing episode aired final month.<\/p>\n

Though it debuted in July 2021, Back On the Record<\/a><\/em> was simply the newest of a number of HBO<\/a> interview collection hosted by Costas. He was awarded seven Sports Emmy Awards as host of On The Record with Bob Costas<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(2001-2004) and\u00a0Costas Now<\/em><\/a> (2005-2009).<\/p>\n

Guests over the 2 seasons of Back On the Record<\/em> have included Rasheda Ali, Carmelo Anthony, Charles Barkley, Ken Burns, Billy Crystal, Jerry Jones, Bomani Jones, Billie Jean King, Peyton Manning, John McEnroe, Candace Parker, Aly Raisman, and Lindsey Vonn. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have always been proud of my association with HBO, and the type of programming we have been able to do over the years,\u201d Costas mentioned<\/a>. \u201cI am grateful for the invaluable contributions of my many talented HBO colleagues past and present, and to Ross Greenburg, Rick Bernstein, and most recently, Nina Rosenstein for their support and for the opportunity to be part of a network that has long been the gold standard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBob Costas and his team have delivered insightful and quality sports programming with \u2018Back on the Record,\u2019 and we are proud of its multiple Sports Emmy nominations,\u201d an HBO spokesperson mentioned in a press release. \u201cBob is an important part of HBO Sports\u2019 history, and\u00a0Back on the Record\u00a0<\/em>was an excellent chapter in that story.\u201d<\/p>\n
