Paul Taylor Dance Company, below the course of Michael Novak, introduced varied applications comprising Taylor: A New Era<\/em> on the Lincoln Center from November 1-13, 2022. Somewhere within the Middle <\/em>was a world premiere that includes the music of Count Basie, Sarah Vaughan, Duke Ellington, Wynton Marsalis and Bill Evans. The piece\u2019s choreographer, Amy Hall Garner, is resident choreographer at Carolina Ballet, has coached Beyonc\u00e9 and has wide-ranging choreographic expertise. The ambiance is enjoyable and jazzy, and paint blotches decrease and raise from the ceiling, the colour palette shifting with the assorted sections of the piece. The choreography could be very musical, and the motion is flirty and athletic, although I don\u2019t fairly consider the coquettish relationships which can be constructed into the accomplice work, which is without doubt one of the weaker parts of the piece. Although the dance isn\u2019t completely clear, the groupings of dancers change seamlessly, and the costumes and set design are very cohesive. The remaining piece of the evening, Esplanade<\/em>, was first carried out in 1975, and is about to Bach music.
