BOULDER, COLO.:<\/strong> Butterfly Effect Theatre of Colorado<\/a> (previously Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, or BETC) has introduced that managing director Rebecca Remaly and producing inventive director Stephen Weitz will depart the group on the finish of the 2022-23 season. The couple co-founded the theatre in 2006 with Stephany Roscoe. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis was something we considered carefully, and after much deliberation we decided this is what we want to do as artists and for our family,\u201d Remaly mentioned in an announcement. \u201cWe are ready and excited to explore our personal and artistic lives beyond BETC.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to have worked on some of the most compelling plays of recent times and to have done so in the company of hundreds of amazingly talented local artists,\u201d Weitz added. \u201cThe pursuit of BETC\u2019s vision was only possible because of their incredible work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Remaly and Weitz will stay energetic at BETC for its spring 2023 productions, Kate Hamill\u2019s Ms. Holmes and Ms. Watson, Apt. 2B <\/em>and Mat Smart\u2019s Eden Prairie, 1971<\/em>. They may also proceed working with the Generations new play studying and BETC Writers Group by way of the top of the season. <\/p>\n

John Moore of the Denver Gazette<\/a> has reported that BETC\u2019s future is unclear with the departure of its co-founders. \u201cWe are being completely transparent when we say we don\u2019t know what the future of BETC is going to look like,\u201d Remaly advised Moore. \u201cIf people are sad about us leaving and what the future of BETC might look like, then I appreciate their emotional investment in us,\u201d Weitz added. \u201cBut I will also say, \u2018Hey, get out there and find a new local theatre company to love.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Butterfly Effect Theatre of Colorado goals to create highly effective and fascinating performances and packages with significant impacts past the stage. BETC serves and welcomes Colorado\u2019s many numerous communities and cultivates an inclusive setting for artists and audiences. As of 2021, the theatre had a price range of roughly $560,000.<\/p>\n
