Go-Go\u2019s singer and solo artist Belinda Carlisle has introduced plans to launch her first pop album since 1996\u2019s A Woman & A Man<\/em>. The \u201cHeaven Is A Place On Earth\u201d singer has technically launched two albums since \u2014 the 2007 French-language Voila<\/em> and a Sikh chant album Wilder Shores<\/em> in 2017. According to Retro Pop Magazine<\/a>, Carlisle has a sequence of recent initiatives coming in 2023 and 2024, the primary being an EP due within the spring and a lead single, \u201cBig Big Love,\u201d out in February.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so weird, because I was going to retire. Just work occasionally and live a nice life. Then my son ran into [songwriter] Diane Warren at Starbucks and she goes, \u2018What is your mom doing?\u2019 He says, \u2018I don\u2019t know,\u2019 and she goes, \u2018Oh, then let\u2019s call her!\u2019. She has the foulest language in the business and she goes, \u2018Bitch, what are you doing? I have some hits for you,’\u201d Carlisle informed the journal. <\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018Do I really want to do this?\u2019 Because it\u2019s a big commitment when you do something like that. But I went to the studio and I don\u2019t even know what to say \u2013 it was so good. There are about three singles on the EP and they\u2019re incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n Carlisle will reportedly hit the studio with author\/producer Gabe Lopez within the spring, after she wraps up her upcoming Decades Tour. \u201cThe working title is Once Upon A Time in California<\/em>, because that\u2019s really where it all began for me,\u201d she says. \u201cEverything\u2019s done, all the artwork \u2013 I just have to finish the songs. After I made Wilder Shores<\/em>, people were complaining like, \u2018Why don\u2019t you do something in English?\u2019 And I said, \u2018Well, whatever I do has to really mean something.’\u201d<\/p>\n Carlisle provides: \u201cAfter I got sober, \u2018Voila\u2019 was the first time I was able to work from the heart and just love what I was doing. I have to really love it; I can\u2019t just put out an English-language pop album for the sake of it. So that\u2019s why this is a surprise. I didn\u2019t really expect to get excited about the classic pop songs until I was given the most amazing songs from Diane.\u201d<\/p>\n Carlisle can be at present mapping out an all-star tribute with Dolly Parton, Debbie Harry, Gloria Estefan, and Cyndi Lauper, showing on the soundtrack to the forthcoming 80s For Brady<\/em> movie starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, which hits theaters in February.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
