Led by Viola Davis, the blockbuster tells the story of an all-female military of warriors.<\/p>\n<p>Two different movies directed by girls made the reduce. Joining \u201cThe Woman King\u201d are Chinonye Chukwu\u2019s \u201cTill,\u201d a biopic of educator and activist Mamie Till-Bradley, whose son, Emmett Till, was lynched, and Lila Neugebauer\u2019s \u201cCauseway,\u201d a portrait of a friendship between a conflict vet and a mechanic, each of whom are coping with trauma.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best films of this year prove that diverse stories \u2013 the true and the fantastical \u2013 are not only important to the culture but are equally important to the movie-making business,\u201d stated AAFCA president and co-founder Gil Robertson. \u201cBlack films which make an impact on our minds and hearts are also making a sizable impact at the box office.
