The pastor\u2014who has appeared on The Real Housewives of Potomac<\/em> alongside Gizelle Bryant, his ex-wife\u2014made his revelation throughout an look on\u00a0Cool Soror with Rashan Ali<\/em><\/a>. In the podcast\u2019s newest episode, which premiered on Wednesday, Jamal spoke on how he\u2019s \u201cleading in this effort to try to change the narrative\u201d surrounding church buildings\u2019 stances on social issues.<\/p>\n

He proceeded to outright declare that he\u2019s \u201cafter people who don\u2019t go to church,\u201d not like another spiritual leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m mindful that I\u2019m not after Christians. I\u2019m after people who don\u2019t go to church.\u00a0A lot of churches are just recycling people from other churches. That\u2019s not who I\u2019m after.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He then elaborated on this by making fairly the proclamation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking for people that smell like weed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In response to host Rashan Ali\u2019s seen shock, the pastor defined his place.<\/p>\n

\u201cNew Birth is the largest land-owning Black church in America, and so my position to my deacons is, \u2018Why aren\u2019t we not raising cannabis?’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bryant went on to record the completely different the reason why he thinks the church diving into this new space may be useful.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be able to bring in Black males. They\u2019re able to do it legally. I\u2019m teaching them farming. I\u2019m helping them to enhance the ecosystem. This is the kind of conversation. So if the guy, Black boy, in Bankhead said, \u2018They growing weed at the church? Where do I join?\u2019 I don\u2019t need no pamphlet for him. He coming in! And that\u2019s the group that I\u2019m going after.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
