IFC Films has secured worldwide rights to Nicole Riegel\u2019s sophomore function, \u201cDandelion,\u201d a romantic drama led by \u201cMoonlight\u2019s\u201d KiKi Layne.\u00a0Deadine broke the information.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Slated for theatrical launch subsequent 12 months, the movie tells the story of Dandelion (Layne), \u201ca struggling but determined Cincinnati singer-songwriter in a downward spiral. She reluctantly takes a last-ditch-effort gig at a motorcycle rally in South Dakota where she meets Casey, a guitarist who walked away from his dream long ago. As Dandelion joins Casey\u2019s eclectic and nomadic group of struggling musicians, the kindred spirits make music together and strike up an intoxicating whirlwind romance that moves Dandelion from an obsession with results and a narrow view of success to a deeper appreciation of her artistic journey and the discovery of a voice that is authentically her own,\u201d the supply particulars.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very excited to bring forth a story about the resilience of the human spirit and magic of serendipity taking center stage,\u201d stated Layne, who’s amongst \u201cDandelion\u2019s\u201d exec producers. \u201cMusic is an integral part of my life, so being able to merge the two worlds with my passion of acting is a dream come true, and I\u2019m thrilled to be in partnership with IFC Films.\u201d<\/p>\n Riegel, who can also be producing \u201cDandelion,\u201d described her partnership with Layne as \u201crewarding\u201d and promised that the starring position \u201cshowcases her authenticity and gorgeous music abilities.\u201d<\/p>\n IFC Films launched 2020\u2019s \u201cHoller,\u201d Riegel\u2019s function debut, an Indie Spirit-nominated coming-of-age drama a few teenage woman who joins a harmful scrap steel crew within the hopes of paying for her school training. \u201cWhen I was a high school senior, I had a meeting with my guidance counselor.
