McVie was a gentle presence and character in a band identified for its frequent lineup adjustments and unstable personalities \u2014 notably fellow singer-songwriters Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.<\/p>\n

Fleetwood Mac began out as a London blues band within the Nineteen Sixties, and developed into one of many defining makers of Seventies California pop-rock, with the mixed skills of McVie, Nicks and Buckingham anchored by the rhythm part of founder Mick Fleetwood on drums and John McVie on bass.<\/p>\n
