Brazilian actor Fernanda Andrade<\/a> plays Elizabeth opposite Demi\u00e1n Bichir<\/a>\u2018s Mark, and the story (told in flashback as Mark gives confession for the first time in 10 years) gives heartbreaking explanations for the season\u2019s greatest mysteries. Bichir and creator Andrew Hinderaker spoke with TV Insider concerning the highly effective episode and what it means for the remainder of Let the Right One In <\/em>Season 1.<\/p>\n In \u201cMore Than You\u2019ll Ever Know,\u201d viewers study Ellie was attacked by a vampire when she was stargazing alone in her yard. At the same time, what he is doing and becoming is painful for Eleanor and creates a lot of shame that she has to live with. It\u2019s that dichotomy that sits at the heart of a show and feels so essential.\u201d<\/p>\n Bichir calls Elizabeth\u2019s sacrifice tragic as a result of it was a short-term answer \u2014 a choice Mark couldn\u2019t have made neither then nor now. \u201cThey will have to feed again soon. And that\u2019s exactly the tragedy that\u2019s represented,\u201d Bichir explains. \u201cWhen her mom makes that sacrifice, it\u2019s only for a meal. It\u2019s not even a cure forever, so I think Mark has always been very clear that staying alive is the only way to help.\u201d<\/p>\n Back sooner or later, Mark and Ellie are beginning to see a glimpse of a presumably pleased life of their reference to Naomi (Anika Noni Rose<\/a>) and Isaiah (Ian Foreman<\/a>). But these glimmers of hope are underscored by Mark and Ellie\u2019s darkish secrets and techniques. Will they ever cease chasing for the remedy? Bichir says there\u2019s no stopping, as a result of atonement will solely include curing his daughter of this \u201cillness.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s the type of a person who\u2019s determined to do that for his daughter,\u201d he says, \u201cnot only to honor his wife\u2019s life, but he also knows that he needs to succeed in order to be able to look at himself in the mirror and be proud of whatever he sees. I don\u2019t see Mark and Ellie choosing the easy way out.\u201d<\/p>\n Along with the pilot, Episode 7 was a part of Hinderaker\u2019s fundamental pitch to Showtime. \u201cIt epitomizes what the show aspires to be, in that I think it is our most horror-centric episode, as traditionally defined, and also our most emotional episode,\u201d he explains. \u201cThe works of horror that most speak to me, from classics like Dracula<\/em> and Frankenstein<\/em> to beautiful films like The Orphanage, <\/em>and of course Let the Right One In,<\/em> are works that use the horror genre to explore situations that are not only terrifying, but profoundly heartbreaking. This episode is a real effort to be in conversation with those pieces that traffic in horror to explore profound loss.\u201d<\/p>\n Episode 7\u2019s story, although solely specializing in 4 characters, is the core of everybody\u2019s grief on this collection, Hinderaker says. \u201cSo much of what defines Mark and Eleanor, and to an extent what defines Naomi, Isaiah, Claire, Peter, and everyone in our story, is the absence of what was.\u201d<\/p>\n Mark desperately needs to get what was again, however Zeke (in flashback and now) is on the aspect of letting the previous go. His perception that others shouldn\u2019t need to die so Ellie can stay isn\u2019t unsuitable, and neither is Mark\u2019s desperation to maintain his daughter alive.<\/p>\n Francisco Roman\/SHOWTIME<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI\u2019m a firm believer in that adage that the best scenes are right versus right,\u201d Hinderaker tells us. \u201cZeke\u2019s point of view is you cannot go out and murder someone. That is crossing a line from which there is no return, and I think he\u2019s right. And Mark\u2019s point of view is, \u2018I have identified someone who is a child rapist, and you\u2019re saying that person gets to live and my own child does not?\u2019 Zeke probably has the higher moral ground, but he also isn\u2019t the parent. For me, it creates really great drama. Another component of great drama for me, in addition to allowing both characters to be right, is that both characters deeply love each other. And they deeply love Eleanor, whom they\u2019re fighting over.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMany things break in a family and within your closest circle of friends when there\u2019s an illness in the family, when there\u2019s an addiction problem in the family. Whoever experienced that before, they know how much it drains the entire environment,\u201d Bichir provides of Zeke and Mark\u2019s dilemma. \u201cIt\u2019s clear that everyone reacts based on how much love we have for each other, but it\u2019s always heartbreaking when you have to make a hard decision like that.\u201d<\/p>\n Now that we perceive what occurred previously, how does Episode 7 arrange the present\u2019s future? As seen in Episode 6, the beginnings of a household are beginning to type with Mark, Ellie, Naomi, and Isaiah. This is the primary time in 10 years Mark has taken off a few of his \u201carmor,\u201d as Hinderaker calls it, to let some mild in. But the key guilt of killing Isaiah\u2019s father is weighing on him, pushing him into the confession sales space in Episode 6.
