DIIV<\/a> have launched a brand new stay album that includes tracks the band carried out at an unplugged acoustic present greater than half a decade in the past.<\/p>\n The album, recorded throughout a gig at Brooklyn\u2019s Murmrr Theatre in August of 2017, options new preparations of songs from the band\u2019s first two albums \u2013 2012\u2019s \u2018Oshin\u2019<\/a> and 2016\u2019s \u2018Is The Is Are\u2019<\/a>. Also featured are covers of My Bloody Valentine<\/a>\u2018s \u2018When You Sleep\u2019 and \u2018Hollow\u2019 by Alex G<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIn August 2017 I was 5 months sober and DIIV hadn\u2019t played a show in almost a year,\u201d bandleader Cole Smith defined in a press release. \u201cOur pal Ric helped us arrange an intimate acoustic present in a theater in our hometown of Brooklyn. We adorned the stage with stuff from our homes and performed our house movies on a TV.<\/p>\n \u201cWe invited our friends and family and played some songs from our first two albums and some other artists\u2019 songs that felt important to us as a band. It felt like some kind of reset. We recorded the show and forgot about it for a bunch of years.
