D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine introduced Tuesday his workplace goes after Washington Commanders proprietor Daniel Snyder<\/a><\/span>, the franchise itself, the National Football League, and league commissioner Roger Goodell, submitting civil costs towards the quartet.<\/p>\n

Racine\u2019s workplace alleges they colluded to deceive Washington D.C. residents in regards to the NFL\u2019s investigation into the workforce\u2019s poisonous office tradition in addition to allegations of sexual assault introduced towards folks related to the franchise.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit towards Snyder and the others cites the D.C.\u2019s Consumer Protection<\/a><\/span> Procedures Act, which provides the legal professional common broad authority to carry people or an organization accountable for the deceptive of clients within the nation\u2019s capital. We agree with AG Racine on one thing: the public needs to know the truth. Although the lawsuit repeats a lot of innuendo, half-truths and lies, we welcome this opportunity to defend the organization \u2014 for the first time \u2014 in a court of law and to establish, once and for all, what is fact and what is fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s what NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said about the lawsuit, \u201cWe reject the legally unsound and factually baseless allegations made today by the D.C. Attorney General against the NFL and Commissioner Goodell and will vigorously defend against those claims.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snyder by himself is accused of covering up years of harassment and that the NFL allegedly allowed him to do so. There are financial penalties of up to $5,000 per incident of all parties allegedly lying to D.C. residents since July 2020, when the Washington Post<\/em> article detailing the organization\u2019s toxic workplace was released. Racine said the full penalty could be in the millions, having worked on a similar case in the past where the total in damages was $10 million.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit also seeks a court order that would force the NFL into releasing the findings from the league\u2019s investigation into Washington\u2019s office tradition<\/a><\/span>. The NFL didn\u2019t publicly launch the findings of the investigation into the Commanders, which led to Congress getting concerned with a House Oversight Committee evaluation and Goodell testifying earlier than the panel in June. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
