The former Black Sabbath frontman, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, passed away in July 2025, just weeks after a farewell performance in his hometown <\/a><\/a>. Judas Priest, who also formed in Birmingham in the 1960s, decided to release a charity version of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” after they were unable to perform at Ozzy’s “Back To The Beginning” concert due to a prior commitment with the Scorpions’ 60th-anniversary show <\/a><\/a><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration came about after Sharon Osbourne heard Judas Priest’s initial cover of the song and proposed the idea of adding Ozzy’s vocals <\/a><\/a><\/a>. The result is a powerful duet with band members Rob Halford and Ozzy Osbourne trading alternate vocal lines <\/a><\/a>. Guitarist Glenn Tipton, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2008 and launched his own foundation in 2018, also features on the track <\/a><\/a><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was initially conceived as a tribute video before evolving into a full charity single <\/a><\/a>. All profits from the recording are being donated to The Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation<\/strong> and Cure Parkinson’s<\/strong> <\/a><\/a><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
