\n\tMore than 30 years after he\u2019d final performed the position, Mark Hamill<\/a> had a a lot darker concept for Luke Skywalker\u2019s life in Star Wars: Episode VIII \u2014 The Last Jedi<\/a><\/em> (2017).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Emmy winner recalled his pitch for author\/director Rian Johnson<\/a> about the place Luke\u2019s life had taken him within the years since Episode VI \u2014 Return of the Jedi<\/em> (1983) that may make him flip his again on the Force earlier than returning in Episode VII \u2014 The Force Awakens<\/a><\/em> (2015).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI thought, what could make someone give up a devotion to what is basically a religious entity, to give up being a Jedi,\u201d he defined on the Bullseye<\/a><\/em> podcast. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, the love of a woman,\u201d Hamill continued. \u201cSo, he falls in love with a woman. He gives up being a Jedi. They have a child together. At some point the child, as a toddler, picks up an unattended lightsaber, pushes the button, and is killed instantly. The wife is so full of grief, she kills herself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHamill\u2019s newest interview comes after he shot down any hopes of Luke returning<\/a> for an additional installment within the Disney<\/a> and Lucasfilm<\/a> franchise, after the character died throughout a pivotal second in The Last Jedi<\/em>, turning into one with the Force.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the days, the humble days when George called Star Wars<\/a><\/em> \u2018the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,’\u201d he informed ComicBook.com. \u201cWe never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my view is, I had my time. I\u2019m appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHamill jokingly added, \u201cAnd by the way, when I disappeared in [The Last Jedi<\/em>], I left my robes behind. And there\u2019s no way I\u2019m gonna appear as a naked Force ghost. I\u2019m just letting you know that right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
