NEW YORK CITY:<\/strong> The Thornton Wilder Society<\/a> will current the annual Thornton Wilder Prize to creative director Michel Hausmann<\/a> and the corporate he co-founded, Miami New Drama<\/a>. The awards ceremony will happen on the American Academy of Arts and Letters<\/a> in New York on Nov. 14. The occasion will characteristic an onstage dialogue about Miami New Drama\u2019s multilingual 2017 manufacturing of Wilder\u2019s Our Town<\/em><\/a>, together with a dialogue about Wilder\u2019s life, profession, and enduring recognition amongst Hausmann, playwright Sarah Ruhl<\/a>, and Thornton Wilder\u2019s nephew and literary executor, Tappan Wilder, moderated by journalist Jeremy McCarter.<\/p>\n

Miami New Drama is the resident theatre firm on the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach.\u00a0Under Hausmann\u2019s management, Miami New Drama produced the primary trilingual manufacturing\u2014in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and English\u2014of Thornton Wilder\u2019s basic drama Our Town<\/em>. <\/p>\n

The Thornton Wilder Society is devoted to preserving and increasing the legacy of the three-time Pulitzer-winning author, the one one to obtain awards for each fiction and drama. The society seeks to help initiatives which emphasize the timeless significance of Thornton Wilder\u2019s literature and drama to world tradition.\u00a0The society publishes the Thornton Wilder Journal<\/em><\/a> twice a yr and periodically presents a prize to artists who mirror the values espoused by Wilder.\u00a0The 2022-23 season is being celebrated because the one hundred and twenty fifth\u00a0anniversary<\/a> of Wilder\u2019s start.<\/p>\n
