But the other one with Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones, David Selznick’s one of my favorite producers. This one just sucks, you know what I mean? What I could do<\/em> with that material.\u201d<\/p>\n But one of many \u201cbest books of all time\u201d is extra modern fare: When the Going Was Good<\/em>,<\/a> by former Vanity Fair<\/em> editor Graydon Carter<\/strong>, who made headlines<\/a> writing that he \u201cbanned<\/a>\u201d Weinstein<\/a> from the Oscar social gathering.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m the villain in the piece, you know what I mean?\u201d Weinstein stated of the lately printed memoir. \u201cBecause I always used to try to sneak in more guests into the Vanity Fair<\/em> Party. They never told me that I was banned for life<\/a>, but apparently in the book, [Carter] said I was banned for life. I used to get, like, a guy would come to me and say, \u2018If you can get me into the Vanity Fair<\/em> Party, I’ll donate to any one of your charities.\u2019”<\/p>\n Weinstein last attended the Vanity Fair<\/em> Oscar Party in February of 2017<\/a>, Carter\u2019s final year hosting. Numerous women came forward with accusations of assault and misconduct in October of 2017.<\/p>\n In Weinstein’s retelling, he claims he negotiated a quarter-million dollar donation to amfAR in exchange for sneaking the guy into the party. \u201cI brought the extra person with me and Georgina [Chapman]<\/strong>, and they said, \u2018You only have two. You brought three.\u2019 You know, I argued a little bit, got him in and got that quarter of a million dollars for charity.\u201d (A consultant for Carter didn’t reply to Vanity Fair<\/em>.)<\/p>\n In addition to Owens, Weinstein has Joe Rogan<\/strong> in his nook<\/a>. \u201cI can\u2019t believe I\u2019m on Harvey Weinstein\u2019s side,\u201d the podcaster stated.
