Ella Bruccoleri (Call the Midwife, Bridgerton<\/em>) will lead the forged as Mary Bennet within the ten-episode BritBox<\/a> sequence\u00a0The Other Bennet Sister<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tOne of Jane Austen\u2019s most unassuming characters, Mary Bennet is the seemingly unremarkable and neglected center sister in Jane Austen\u2019s\u00a0Pride and Prejudice.<\/em> The sequence takes as its premise that \u2013 relating to the Bennet sisters \u2013 whereas we dream of being Lizzy, in actuality most of us are extra like Mary\u2026<\/p>\n \n\tBased on Janice Hadlow\u2019s bestselling novel, the sequence follows Mary as she steps out of her sisters\u2019 shadows in the hunt for her personal identification and goal \u2013 discovering herself in the course of an epic love story alongside the way in which. Her journey will see her go away her household house in Meryton for the soirees of Regency London and the peaks and vales of the Lake District, all in the hunt for independence, self-love and reinvention.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Other Bennet Sister <\/em>is produced by Bad Wolf (His Dark Materials, Industry<\/em>) for\u00a0BritBox\u00a0International in a co-production with BBC iPlayer and BBC One.<\/p>\n \n\tSarah Quintrell (The Power<\/em>,\u00a0Ellen<\/em>) will write 9 of the ten half-hour episodes, with Maddie Dai (We Were Dangerous<\/em>) writing one episode.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Other Bennet Siste<\/em>r\u00a0(10\u00d730\u2032) was co-commissioned by Robert Schildhouse, Jess O\u2019Riordan and Stephen Nye on behalf of\u00a0BritBox\u00a0International, and Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, for BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
