\n\tAfter almost 30 years, Zak Starkey<\/a> has bid farewell to The Who<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tThe drummer, who’s the son of Ringo Starr, confirmed his exit from the English rock band after a \u201cserious medical emergency,\u201d regardless of current experiences of drama inside the 60-year outdated band.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m very proud of my near 30 years with The Who,\u201d he instructed People<\/a><\/em>. \u201cFilling the shoes of my Godfather, \u2018uncle Keith\u2019 has been the biggest honor and I remain their biggest fan. They\u2019ve been like family to me.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tStarkey added, \u201cIn January, I suffered a serious medical emergency with blood clots in my right bass drum calf. This is now completely healed and does not affect my drumming or running.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFollowing experiences that singer Roger Daltrey<\/a> had friction with Starkey<\/a> throughout a current efficiency by which he couldn\u2019t hear over the drums, Starkey mentioned he was \u201csurprised and saddened anyone would have an issue with my performance that night, but what can you do?\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI plan to take some much needed time off with my family, and focus on the release of \u2018Domino Bones\u2019 by Mantra Of The Cosmos with Noel Gallagher in May and finishing my autobiography written solely by me,\u201d added Starkey. \u201c29 years at any job is a good old run, and I wish them the best.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tStarkey\u2019s exit comes after Daltrey revealed onstage final month that he\u2019s \u201cgoing blind<\/a>,\u201d including: \u201cFortunately I still have my voice, because then I\u2019ll have a full Tommy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
