MANILA, PHILIPPINES \u2014 The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement.<\/p>\n

CICC Executive Director Alexander Ok. Ramos and PDEA Asec. Renato Gumban led the signing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ret. PGen. Sotero Ramos, Highly Technical Consultant and Dir. Francis Del Valle, Director III, Legal and Prosecution Service of PDEA, joined the continuing.<\/p>\n

Their collaboration will enhance efforts in combating cybercrimes, particularly these associated to harmful medication and managed parts.<\/p>\n

The MoA ensures that the CICC\u2019s assets and technical experience will likely be out there to PDEA representatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also, the CICC will facilitate the drug company\u2019s information sharing with different companies.<\/p>\n

On the opposite hand, PDEA will enable useful resource sharing with the CICC to forestall and suppress cybercrimes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to closer working relations. We see CICC as a binding entity to all of these, in the middle of all these activities,\u201d Ramos mentioned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also, the CICC will facilitate the drug company\u2019s information sharing with different companies related to RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and different related legal guidelines.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PDEA Assistant Secretary Renato Gumban defined that criminals have shifted from financial institution transfers to cryptocurrency funds.<\/p>\n

This new expertise makes it troublesome for regulation enforcement to trace drug funds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a bit difficult. It needs technology [so] we need [the] CICC there,\u201d Gumban acknowledged.\u00a0<\/p>\n
