\n\tAs Nicholas Hoult<\/a>\u2018s Lex Luthor<\/a> is revealed within the first teaser for James Gunn<\/a>\u2018s Superman<\/a><\/em>, Jesse Eisenberg<\/a> is lamenting his personal stint because the supervillain.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar nominee just lately mirrored on his \u201cpoorly received\u201d flip as Lex in Zack Snyder<\/a>\u2018s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice<\/a><\/em> (2016) and Justice League<\/a><\/em> (2017), explaining the way it \u201churt\u201d his profession.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was in this Batman movie and the Batman movie was so poorly received, and I was so poorly received,\u201d he mentioned on Dax Shepard\u2019s Armchair Expert<\/a><\/em> podcast. \u201cI\u2019ve never said this before and it\u2019s kind of embarrassing to admit, but I genuinely think it actually hurt my career in a real way, because I was poorly received in something so public.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough Batman v. Superman<\/em> flopped amongst critics with a 29% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it soared on the field workplace with a $874 million world haul. Justice League<\/em> continued the streak with a barely higher Tomatometer score at 39% and $661 million worldwide.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been in poorly received things that just don\u2019t see the light of day, and for the most part, no one knows,\u201d defined Eisenberg. \u201cBut this was so public, and I don\u2019t read notices or reviews or movie press or anything, so I was unaware of how poorly it was received.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRegardless of the DC<\/a> films\u2019 affect on his profession, Eisenberg seems to have bounced again, just lately securing two Golden Globe nominations<\/a> for his movie A Real Pain<\/a><\/em>, together with Best Actor in a Motion Picture \u2014 Musical or Comedy and Best Screenplay.<\/p>\n

\n\tEisenberg beforehand informed Deadline he wouldn\u2019t rule out a return<\/a> to the DC onscreen universe. \u201cI\u2019d be shocked if I wound up in a DC movie, but it would be a pleasant shock,\u201d he mentioned in 2022.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cListen, I\u2019m not a comic book fan. To me, it was not playing a role that I\u2019d envisioned since childhood,\u201d Eisenberg continued. \u201cTo me, it was a chance to play this great character that this great writer wrote, and I loved doing that. So, to play it is a joy, and to not play it isn\u2019t something that I\u2019m going to be ashamed to tell my kids about, because that is not an important genre in my life, even though I loved doing that movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
