\n\t\u201cBut I also love that it was inspirational with very complex characters,\u201d Lopez stated. \u201cJudy herself was a very inspirational woman. You see this champion, you see this very extraordinary person in Anthony Robles but without his mother, he would not have been that person.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tLopez mirrored on a few of her earlier roles, together with her flip as a stripper in \u201cHustlers\u201d that garnered awards buzz. Going again all the best way to 1997 with \u201cSelena,\u201d Lopez acknowledged how she knew instantly that taking part in Selena Quintanilla-P\u00e9rez can be a \u201chuge responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tShe added, \u201cI actually didn\u2019t know Selena\u2019s music before then. I wasn\u2019t into Spanish music as much so I didn\u2019t know her \u2026 I remember seeing her funeral pictures and all the people that showed up and I was like, \u2018Whoa. What is this?\u2019 I just knew there was this big role, which there never was a big role for a young Latin girl to be the lead in a film.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tSimilar to how Lopez was in a position to connect with her character in \u201cUnstoppable\u201d as a mom, she noticed that Selena and her \u201chad similar hearts\u201d as dancers.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI understood her joy,\u201d she stated. \u201cI would watch her on stage and her dancing and I was like, \u2018She\u2019s just doing it.\u2019 There\u2019s no choreography, there\u2019s nothing \u2026 There\u2019s just joy, singing, dancing, feeling, there\u2019s so much about her. I didn\u2019t even realize at the time I would go on to make 10 or 11 albums. I was just at the beginning of my acting career.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tReflecting again on the movies she\u2019s been in over time, Lopez sees a universality to the most effective sorts of tales.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter where you\u2019re from,\u201d she stated. \u201cBecause while you can put [\u2018Unstoppable\u2019] under a sports story, it\u2019s not, it\u2019s more of a family story. It\u2019s really about these two people and the bond between this mother and son.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
