Up on the rooftop of the H\u00f4tel Martinez on the Cannes Croisette, Mike Faist<\/strong> is combating again tears. He misplaced his father in December and his grandfather simply three weeks later, and on Thursday, discovered himself deeply moved on the world premiere of Megalopolis<\/em>, Francis Ford Coppola<\/strong>\u2019s self-financed epic. This was Faist\u2019s first day ever on the competition. \u201cIt could be [Coppola\u2019s] last and my first\u2014I don\u2019t take it lightly, and I do not take my days for granted any more,\u201d Faist tells me. \u201cI\u2019ve been having a little bit of a crisis for myself in the past couple of weeks, as Challengers<\/em> has come out and I\u2019ve been saying to people that, in the next, what, five or 10 years, we will probably be losing some of our greatest giants. And it really hurts. It\u2019s very sad for me.\u201d He will get choked up, and pauses to gather himself: \u201cI get emotional thinking about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
