\n\tAmy Schumer<\/a> was honored on the Variety<\/em> Power of Women<\/a> Presented by Lifetime luncheon in New York on Thursday for her work with Everytown for Gun Safety. During her speech, Schumer mentioned it was generally troublesome to maintain combating when \u201cthere\u2019s a clear backslide to our equality.\u201d In reality, when issues appear particularly dire, generally girls simply have to take, \u201can entire day off watching reality shows about hot people selling real estate in different regions of California\u2026 But then we can\u2019t help ourselves; we get up stronger, smarter, more filled with fire, and we remember these brave women who changed what it will say in the history books and will stand the test of time.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tSchumer then shared a narrative a few challenge she labored on not too long ago the place it was revealed to her that the crew\u2019s manufacturing assistant had been sexually harassed by an actor on set. But regardless of the feelings or societal pressures to maintain silent, Schumer revealed that the PA spoke up instantly. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cShe told the appropriate people and did what she needed to do to feel safe and to heal,\u201d Schumer mentioned. \u201cI called her to apologize and thank her for speaking up for the women who would come after her that she had saved. This isn\u2019t perfect, but this is progress. And many of you here, today, your work will help guide these women so when the time comes, they\u2019ll say, \u2018Oh I\u2019m so sorry but not on my watch, motherfucker.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tElsewhere in her speech, Schumer used her platform to advocate for gun security.<\/p>\n
