Selena Gomez<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>opened up about how she doesn\u2019t thoughts clapping again at trolls on social media throughout a dialog on the\u00a0Time\u00a0<\/em>100 Summit in New York on Wednesday, April 24. While talking about her Rare Beauty model, the singer, 31, admitted that she isn\u2019t afraid to talk as much as defend her family members, when\u00a0Time\u00a0<\/em>senior editor\u00a0Lucy Feldman\u00a0<\/strong>requested about what her relationship with social media is.<\/p>\n

Selena admitted that she was very comfortable when she took an prolonged break from social media. \u201cI took four years off of Instagram, and I let my team post for me for those years. I felt like it was the most rewarding gift I gave myself,\u201d she mentioned on the summit<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re sitting there so focused on what looks wonderful, when everything that\u2019s meant to be wonderful to you is not from here. I was more present. I was happier. I would actually get real phone calls about people telling me about their story, and I could actually hear it, instead of going, \u2018Oh I already know what you did today.\u2019 It\u2019s more human.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Selena confirmed that she thought that the break was \u201cimportant,\u201d she mentioned that typically she will be able to\u2019t assist responding to trolls. \u201cI find it frustrating. Then I get a little mouthy and I want to defend the people I love,\u201d she mentioned.<\/p>\n

Despite often getting \u201ca little mouthy,\u201d Selena confirmed that she does attempt to hold her thoughts off social media and solely use it every so often. \u201cI think it\u2019s important to take breaks. I don\u2019t really pay much attention. I\u2019ll just do things here and there,\u201d she mentioned.<\/p>\n

Four years in the past wasn\u2019t the one time that Selena took a break from social media. The\u00a0Only Murders within the Building\u00a0<\/em>star introduced that she\u2019d be stepping away from social media<\/a> after some drama on the Golden Globes. She shared a photograph and introduced, \u201cI\u2019m off social media for a while. I\u2019m focusing on what really matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
