Gerry Turner<\/strong> <\/a>and Theresa Nist<\/strong><\/a> have separated after three months of marriage<\/a>. The Golden Bachelor<\/em><\/a>\u2018s first-ever couple to marry introduced their divorce throughout a Friday, April 12, look on Good Morning America<\/em> collectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we\u2019ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and we\u2019ve come to the conclusion mutually that it\u2019s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,\u201d Gerry, 72, defined, earlier than Theresa, 70, identified, \u201cWe have received so much love and support from so many people who watched The Golden Bachelor<\/em>, and I don\u2019t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope. We want none of that to change for anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Theresa then added, \u201cDon\u2019t give up. Stay in it. Stay hopeful. \u2018Cause we are.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair<\/a> defined the rationale why they determined to separate: distance. Theresa famous that they had been planning on transferring in collectively in both New Jersey or South Carolina. Theresa is from New Jersey, whereas Gerry lives in Indiana lake home.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe looked at home after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision,\u201d Theresa identified. Gerry later shared that the \u201cthing that strikes me the most in our conversations, it\u2019s been how dedicated both of us are to our families. So ,we look at these conversation and we both think it\u2019s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gerry is a father to his two daughters, Angie and Jenny, whom he shared together with his late spouse, Toni. He can also be a grandfather to granddaughters Charlee and Payton. As for Theresa, she is a mom to her grownup kids, Jen and Tommy, and she or he is a grandmother to 6 grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Despite breaking apart, the now-estranged spouses<\/a> insisted they’re \u201cbest friends\u201d and didn’t fall out of affection with each other as they sat down for the GMA<\/em> interview holding arms.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still love this person,\u201d Gerry vowed about Theresa. \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt in my mind, I still am in love with her. I root for her every day.\u201d Theresa added, \u201cI still love him.\u201d<\/p>\n
